The aim of this website is to provide information about energy efficient solutions for buildings and ecological construction for building professionals, but also to the general public particularly in the Baltic States.
Find out more about practical examples of good practice of new construction and refurbishment from the region, but also from other countries that fit to the climatic circumstances in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. We do not intend to present you design studies or wholly visionary constructions, but realistic sample houses that are feasible to implement.
Building energy efficient is often a compromise between fighting climate change and protecting the environment.
Here, we also try to go a step further and to gradually provide more and more information about how energy efficiency can be achieved in combination with ecological building materials.
Furthermore, we explain terminology that is typically used when speaking about energy efficiency and you can find links to more information sources and our projects. We also provide you with relevant publications that were developed during our activities.
The website was initially started in 2007 in the frame of a project to develop holistic and strategic concepts for innovative and energy efficient construction in the Baltic States and currently we are in the course of adding more information on ecologic building materials.
The development of this website has been financially supported by the German Federal Foundation for the Environment (Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt) and the European Union.
